The Chargers had their final day of minicamp, ending the team practices a couple of days early.
Mike McCoy makes it official: Chargers minicamp ends day early. Team done until late July. McCoy says players earned it this spring.

The biggest news of the day coincidentally came on the last drill of the day where Danny Woodhead went down on a screen pass.
Woodhead is down holding left leg after collision on a screen pass, trainer is coming over

Crowd of Chargers teammates surround RB Danny Woodhead while being evaluated. Now walking off under own power. pic.twitter.com/evGr4yrjpO

Mike McCoy seems to not be too concerned with Woodhead's injury.
Ballcoach McCoy says Danny Woodhead rolled an ankle and "he looks good now."#chargers

Other injury notes:
Travis Benjamin with a jersey but no helmet today & Max Tuerk has a helmet on but hasn't taken a snap yet
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Rookie Max Tuerk seems to be further along than expected.
Tuerk is running through OL drills, we'll see if he's out there in 11v11
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Max Tuerk is working at C with the 2nd team Off in 7v7
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
With Travis Benjamin sitting practice out a new Wide Receiver took his place and it was not who you'd expect.
First snap in 7v7 it's 13 & 16 out wide. Benjamin is out today but it's Tyrell Williams not Stevie or Dontrelle as WR2
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Inman & Herndon running with the 2s. Tyrell has at least leap frogged Inman on the depth chart maybe even Stevie
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
11v11 and its Tyrell Williams again as WR2. The Tyrell Williams hype is real.
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
The star of the day was Safety Adrian Phillips.
Chris Swain with a bad drop then Adrian Phillips with a pick that he returned for a TD but refs said he stepped out on return. Under review
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Adrain Phillips 2nd INT of the day & these QBs not named Rivers are awful. Coaches gonna have hard time gauging this 2nd/3rd team Off
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Though it may now seem like a big deal, the intensity on the practice field was dialed up.
Ooooo boy McCoy knows I'm here pace is picked up. Players sprinting from stretches to drills
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
A lag in ST drills, coach just shouted "no f*cking walking around". Crowd applauded, players haven't walked since
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
A far cry from practices last year, hope the urgency continues into Training Camp
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Even DJ Fluker and Corey Liuget went at it at one point in practice.
If this is last practice of Chargers minicamp, a spirited one. Corey Liuget, D.J. Fluker tussle. Adrian Phillips one pass breakup, two INTs.

Kyle Emanuel running with starters as well guarding Henry in the slot
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Kyle Emanuel looks bigger.
Kyle Emanuel out on some muscle this offseason, listed today at 250
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Mebane already a captain leading DL group in stretches. Others are Flowers, Addae, Te'o, Ingram, Rivers, Dunlap, Gates, Franklin, Keenan
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Addae just intercepted Rivers in bad throw & everyone on defense, escorted Addae to the end zone whether in on the play or on the sideline
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Coach praising Melvin Gordon.
Mike McCoy said Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) "has worked extremely hard this offseason. ... I'm very pleased with where he's at."
— Michael Gehlken (@sdutGehlken) June 15, 2016
Best I've seen Melvin Gordon look since surgery pic.twitter.com/rdpMYnN8ql

Craig Mager didn't have such a good day.
Flowers not in so Mager next man up
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) June 15, 2016
Craig Mager got worked in with the 1st team D just gave a catch Kennan & a TD to Tyrell Williams on a deep ball on back to back plays
