With the fifth round compensatory pick the Chargers received this offseason, they have selected Linebacker Jatavis Brown out of Akron. A three year starter, he had a lot of success in the Will linebacker spot racking up 41.5 tackles for loss, 18 sacks and 10 forced fumbles.
A new Charger may have a career lined up after football, if he's able to predict things like this...
Be on the look out for Jatavis Brown young man can play ball!!

After the pick was made, San Diego Union Tribune's Kevin Acee had this to say
#Chargers say Jatavis Brown is an inside linebacker. Really building depth there.

If this is the case, that would mean they have drafted two depth ILB's back to back with Perry and Brown. A weakness could easily have become a strength if these guys can live up to what they produced in college. Not to mention, he adds a ton of value to our Special Teams as he should excel in this area. There are some out there who feel his athletic testing numbers indicate he could make a transition to safety, but it doesn't appear that is currently in the Chargers' plans.
