San Diego Chargers starting center Chris Watt now has some serious competition for that spot. The University of Southern California's Max Tuerk is coming to town. Tuerk is an athletic player that moves well, has good length, and has good hands. The issue in his game (and anybody dropping to the third round is going to have substantial issues) is that he needs to develop more lower body strength and add size in general.
Tuerk is also still coming back from an ACL tear in October of last year. You have to imagine that this signals the end of Trevor Robinson's time with the Chargers. Telesco likes to draft for need and center was clearly a need. He got a player in Tuerk that fills that can competently fill one. Some might consider this a slight reach, but that's being nitpicky because Tuerk is a 3rd round talent and most of the quality centers in this draft are gone.
