Around the AFC West: Free Agency Recap (So Far)

The San Diego Chargers have been quiet after a busy day one of Free Agency, but what has the rest of the division been up to?

Denver Broncos

Lost:

QB - Brock Oswiler

DL - Malik Jackson

LB - Danny Trevathan

OL - Louis Vasquez (Cut)

Added:

OL - Donald Stephenson

QB - Mark Sanchez (Via trade)

The Broncos saw quite a bit of money thrown at their free agents this offseason, which is not uncommon amongst teams coming off of a Super Bowl victory. Although the defense lost a few important pieces, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips still has plenty of talent with which to work. The most interesting remaining question with this team, is who is playing quarterback in 2016?

Kansas City Chiefs

Lost:

OL - Donald Stephenson

OL - Jeff Allen

OL - Ben Grubbs (Cut)

S - Tyvon Branch

CB - Sean Smith

QB - Chase Daniel

Added:

OL - Mitchell Schwartz

WR - Rod Streater

While the Broncos had more highly publicized losses (and more expensive ones), the Chiefs lost plenty of depth themselves. Mitchell Schwartz should prove to be a nice upgrade at right tackle, but the Chiefs have uncertainty at both guard spots. I also think Streater will help a team without much talent at wide receiver behind Jeremy Maclin.

Oakland Raiders

Lost:

OL - Tony Bergstrom

WR - Rod Streater

Added:

OL - Kelechi Osemele

LB - Bruce Irvin

CB - Sean Smith

Only 3 notable signings for the Raiders this offseason, but they are all very notable. The cheapest of the 3 players is Irvin, whose contract would pay him just over $9 million per year over its duration. The Raiders have some young talent and are obviously looking to add impact players. They could be trouble if their 2016 free agent class doesn't flop.
