If you watched my Periscope yesterday morning while I sat in traffic on the 805, you'd know that I'm pretty terrified with what the San Diego Charger are going to do with their two safety positions this offseason.
Jahleel Addae has experience, is well-liked, and will probably be cheap as a restricted free agent. Expect him to be back and starting at Strong Safety again.
Eric Weddle is probably the best player on the Chargers defense, but has very little interest in dealing with this front office on a new contract. The team will have to find his replacement, and they will be easier to do via free agency than through the draft (where, hilariously, they're probably picking too high to pick a safety and likely won't have luck trying to trade back).
There are a number of guys available who would be able to walk in and be the starter. I could probably spend all day breaking down every possible option, but I don't have that sort of time. So, here's what we're going to do....
Post, in the comments below, which free agent Free Safety you'd like for me to take a look at and I'll put together another post telling you which of those the Chargers should really focus in on.
