The San Diego Chargers will be without star running back Melvin Gordon for the second straight week while he recovers from hip and knee injuries. It’s disappointing that he won’t be available to face a Browns defense that has struggled to stop the run all season. Rookie Kenneth Farrow and Ronnie Hillman will shoulder the load in his absence
Our #SDvsCLE inactives:
— #SDvsCLE (@Chargers) December 24, 2016
RB M. Gordon
CB C. Mager
TE A. Cleveland
C M. Tuerk
LT K. Dunlap
WR J. Butler
DT K. Eulls
Craig Mager will once again be unavailable when the Chargers take the field, meaning Trevor Williams and Trovon Reed will be the second and third corners behind pro bowler Casey Hayward. Williams and Reed have both been decent this year at the least, with the latter having recorded an interception in each of the last two games. It’s good to get long looks at both of these players now since the Chargers will most likely be looking more corner help next season.
Starting left tackle King Dunlap will not suit up today and will most likely be replaced by Chris Hairston. Hairston played last week against the Oakland Raiders when Dunlap went down with a knee injury.
Wide receiver Jeremy Butler will once again be inactive as well
The inactives for the home team Cleveland Browns includes:
Josh McCown - QB
Gabe Wright - DT
Stephen Paea - DT
Gabe Ikard - C
