Chargers vs. Raiders Inactives: No Melvin Gordon, Kenneth Farrow Will Start

The Chargers will be missing a key offensive piece today against their division rivals

The San Diego Chargers will be without arguably their biggest weapon on offense as Melvin Gordon recovers from a hip/knee injury. Gordon was hurt last week as he tried to recover a Philip Rivers fumble early in the first quarter.

With starting cornerback Craig Mager not playing today, look to see more of Trovon Reed. You might remember Reed from last week as the guy who made an incredible play to pick Cam Newton in the end zone and take it to the house. Of course, his amazing return didn’t count, but he still got the interception.

It’s a little surprising to see backup tackle Tyreek Burwell on the list since he was not on this week’s injury report. That leaves Chris Hairston as the likely backup should any injuries occur to Joe Barksdale or King Dunlap.

Wide receiver Jeremy Butler will have to watch today’s game from the sideline as he deals with an injury. That leaves Isaiah Burse and Geremy Davis as the healthy reserve receivers behind starters Dontrelle Inman, Travis Benjamin, and Tyrell Williams.

Some good news, Joey Bosa will be active today after giving everyone a scare when he left the game against Carolina with a neck injury. This was mostly expected as he was a full participant in practice all week. We’ll see if the Chargers star rookie can replicate his outstanding performance from when the Chargers and Raiders first played back in week 5.
