The Oakland Raiders travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers today in what could be the last game played between these two longtime rivals in Qualcomm Stadium. Somewhat appropriately given the situation, the Chargers will be able to be confused with being the away team this afternoon. Many people nationally will mistakenly read this as an example of why the Chargers have no choice but to relocate to Los Angeles, but really this has more to do with Chargers fans refusing to be saps by putting more money in the pockets of Dean Spanos and the rest of his family.
On the actual field of play, the Chargers are in last place and the Raiders are competing for an AFC West title. The gap between these two teams is not as big as that would suggest, however, and this game should be a close one. The Raiders are better coached and have more depth, though, so they are still the favorites.
