In today’s podcast, I talked about how absurd it is that the San Diego Chargers are reportedly considering offering an extension to Mike McCoy to continue being their Head Coach.
Not only have the last-place Chargers been in last place in their division since 10/25/2015, but the team has gone 10-23 over their last two full seasons and has become a running joke for the rest of the league.
If it is your intention to field a team, and run a franchise, that could eventually win the Super Bowl, there is absolutely no reason to keep Mike McCoy as the team’s Head Coach.
As a matter of fact, there is no good reason to keep Mike McCoy at all. The only reason to do so would be an overwhelming fear of change, which is exactly the type of thinking that makes good teams bad and keeps other good teams from turning into something great.
