So, this is fun news...
Congratulations to Philip Rivers, our 2016 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominee! pic.twitter.com/H3rkpMmuou
— San Diego Chargers (@Chargers) November 15, 2016
Not because we know that Philip Rivers is a great guy, a great competitor, a great teammate, or even a fun guy to be playing against....but because the QB of the San Diego Chargers never stops trash-talking and still manages to get nominated for things like the 2016 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
I sincerely hope that Rivers wins this award, is asked to give a speech, and uses the opportunity to just talk endless amounts of trash to Darren Sproles, Sam Acho, and any other nominee that didn’t win.
I’d like to use this post about Rivers’ on-field antics to repost some of my favorite Philip Rivers on-field moments ever. Enjoy!
The man is the best. He’s the absolute best. He’s the Tim Tebow of actual good quarterbacks. Let him live and play forever and give him all of the sportsmanship awards.
Oh, and find more reasons for him to celebrate in front of 60,000 screaming fans. He really seems to enjoy doing that.
