What necessitates a drastic move is the fact that this was the Chargers’ third loss in four games this season – all of the defeats coming after they led in the fourth quarter. Two of those leads were by at least 13 points. You don’t lose those games. In fact, the rest of the NFL is 25-0 when having at least a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter this season.

While RB Melvin Gordon was effective catching passes, he made next to no impact in the run game, as he carried the ball 19 times and gained just 36 yards, earning a 46.5 grade. He forced just one missed tackle and fumbled. He didn’t get much help from his line, either, as 35 of those 36 yards came after contact.
