Joey Bosa wins Rookie of the Week but anybody who watched the game (or his college tape) wasn’t surprised. In the Chargers win in Atlanta the first round pick finished with 5 tackles and 2 sacks. His first sack came against Left Tackle Jake Mathews where he used his bull rush off the edge, showing his speed and power all while fighting Mathews hands off. Tenny Palepoi did a good job of helping collapse the pocket by looping over to the other side and giving Matt Ryan no space while Bosa cleans it up. Here’s the first sack:

The second sack was against Right Tackle Ryan Schraeder and Bosa showed perfect technique. Bosa dipped his hip and ripped the arm through, just like you run it in practice. Looks like Bosa could win with this move in his sleep and Schraeder doesn’t even look like he’s trying. Here’s the second sack:

That’s not all. This stat popped up too:

Everybody on-board with Joey Bosa yet?
Bosa, where are all the people that were hatin' on you before the draft, after you were drafted, during your contract, during your injury: pic.twitter.com/zh1Le6qwZF

This week it’s Rookie of the Week for Joey Bosa but by season’s end if he keeps up on this pace, it’ll be Defensive Rookie of the Year .
