The San Diego Chargers continue to insist that the health of their roster is not an issue, even after season-ending injuries to Stevie Johnson, Keenan Allen, Danny Woodhead and Manti Te’o.
Now, we’ve come to the part of the season where certain players miss practices and games for extended periods without being put on Injured Reserve.
Our #NOvsSD Inactives:
— #NOvsSD (@Chargers) October 2, 2016
CB Brandon Flowers
S Jahleel Addae
C Max Tuerk
LT King Dunlap
TE Antonio Gates
NT Ryan Carrethers
DE Joey Bosa
Jahleel Addae, King Dunlap and Antonio Gates are three starters that will be missing their second consecutive game.
Many, including your author, are worried about Dunlap despite the team being unconcerned by his migraines.
Joey Bosa, who missed nearly all of the Chargers Training Camp, will miss his fourth consecutive game with a hamstring issue.
Brandon Flowers, who left last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a concussion, will miss this one and force Casey Hayward into a starting role. Hunter Henry played admirably in Gates’ absence and will try to do so again today. Darius Philon will continue to fill in for Bosa.
As for who fills the starting jobs at Strong Safety and Left Tackle, that’s anybody’s guess.
