This isn't the least bit surprising.
We knew, at some point, that the San Diego Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams would come to an agreement in principal. We assumed that Dean Spanos wasn't going to meet with the Mayor of San Diego until he had that deal in his back pocket as leverage.
There's nothing to concern yourself over, unless you were hoping that what would keep the Chargers in San Diego was a relationship so rocky between Dean Spanos and Stan Kroenke that an agreement would never get done. According to reports that came out yesterday, Spanos and Kroenke still have yet to meet and these negotiations were handled by staff members of both organizations.
Now, we can finally move on to the next step in this process. Now Dean Spanos can sit down with Mayor Kevin Faulconer and try to hash out a deal in San Diego that is nice enough to make him turn down the deal he has in Los Angeles.
