Apologies for interrupting the nonstop stadium/relocation news cycle but something happened with the on the field product! And you should still care!
After a two-year Frank Reich interruption, Ken Whisenhunt is returning as the Chargers offensive coordinator for the 2016 season, wherever that might be.
Whisenhunt previously served the same position on Mike McCoy's staff in 2013, his one year in San Diego, before taking the head coaching gig in Tennessee. The Titans fired him seven games into the 2015 season after the team compiled a 3-20 record in his year and a half in Nashville.
In Whisenhunt's lone season in San Diego, the Chargers finished 5th in total yards per game, 1st in third down conversion percentage, 4th in passing and 13th in rushing. Those numbers have gone down across the board, and the team has not returned to the NFL Playoffs, since Whisenhunt left for the Titans head coaching job.
