San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers surpassed Hall of Famer Dan Fouts today when he delivered his 255th career touchdown pass. It was a gorgeous wide receiver screen to Stevie Johnson who scored easily on the play. Rivers, as is his way, celebrated the only way he knows how, by jawing at the defense. Never change, Philip.
While he set a new franchise record, Rivers also moved up in the NFL career passing touchdown rankings.
Rivers also tied Sonny Jurgenson for 14th all time in passing TDs in NFL history.

Sonny Jurgensen is, of course, the legendary quarterback who played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins from the 1950s into the 1970s. With years left to go in his career, Rivers will likely continue to climb the rankings, but where he is now is already quite impressive.
Now, let's see if he can't put a little space between himself and Dan Fouts today.
