Philip Rivers is off to a good start to the 2015 campaign according to the voters.

The 2015 regular season opening game may not have started the way QB Philip Rivers wanted, but the way it ended was good enough to secure him week 1's NFL FEDEX Air Player of the week honors. Rivers beat out Patriots QB Tom Brady and Cardinals QB Carson Palmer for the award that is voted on by fans. Rivers was the only NFL signal caller to eclipse the 400 yard mark as he finished Sunday's 33-28 victory with 35-42 (83.3 percent) for 404 yards and 2 touchdowns and a passer rating of 102.8.

Rivers 1st half stats versus the Lions included 2 interceptions, with one of them returned for a 31 yard touchdown by CB Glover Quin.

Rivers would eventually face a 21-3 deficit before halftime when El Capitan took charge of the game. Rivers was 23-25 for 287 yards and 2 TD with no INTs or Sacks. Rivers capped off the comeback win for the San Diego Chargers with an 11-play 86-yard drive that were keyed by 3rd down conversion passes to Kennan Allen (20 yards) and Stevie Johnson (14 yards).

This is the 9th time in Rivers career he has won the FEDEX Air award. He won the award three times last year.
