The San Diego Chargers inactives for today's game against the Detroit Lions are:
OLB Jerry Attaochu
RB Donald Brown
CB Craig Mager
NT Ryan Carrethers
WR Dontrelle Inman
OLB Tourek Williams
OG Johnnie Troutman
We've known for quite some time that neither Williams nor Troutman would be ready to go to start the season. Attaochu being out is a bit of a surprise (relatively speaking), though, and his absence means the Chargers will only have three active outside linebackers available. Craig Mager was never going to be ready to start an NFL game week 1, so his inactivity isn't going to raise any eyebrows. Donald Brown, one of the most expensive running backs in the National Football League, being out to start the season is a shock, but it's a good one. He's not one of the top backs on the team and you have to love seeing the Chargers be willing to leave him on the sideline.
The biggest surprise is, of course, the omission of Ladarius Green from this list. It seemed like there was no chance he would play after being diagnosed with a concussion, but he will apparently be ready to go.
