The Chargers announced today they have released 11 players ahead of the September 1st deadline to get down to 75 on the roster. The remaining four moves should be announced sometime prior to Tuesday afternoon.
Among the cuts are a few players that, prior to training camp and the preseason, were dark-horse favorites to make the squad. The released players are:
QB Chase Rettig
RB Jahwan Edwards
TE David Paulson
TE Logan Stokes
WR Titus Davis
OT Forrestal Hickman
DL Luther Robinson
DL Cameron Botticelli
LB Curtis Grant
LB Brock Hekking
DB Manny Asprilla
After tweeting out who was released, UT San Diego's Michael Gehlken had this to say about Brock Hekking's release
Chargers OLB Brock Hekking suffered Lisfranc foot injury vs. Seahawks. Will go on IR upon clearing waivers.

With four remaining cuts needing to be made before Tuesday and 26 remaining before the final 53 is announced, the Chargers have a tough week ahead.
