Chargers Training Camp Notes: August 1, 2015

Let's all over-evaluate talent in practice as we break down the first day of pads in San Diego Chargers Training Camp.

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Today marked the first day of padded practice and we got a better look at a lot of these players.  Let's start with the most  important thing in Training Camp: Injuries.

Brandon Flowers wasn't suited up today. Probably just a rest day.

Tenny Palepoi left practice early with an apparent foot injury and did not return.

Also, looks like Chris Watt was shaken up as well.

As for the practice itself, it was lackadaisical and everyone noticed it on and off the field.

Jason Verrett was the standout again in practice. Verrett manned one side and locked it down through the day.

Speaking of #51, OLB Kyle Emanuel made some noise today.

Here's a prediction:

Melvin Gordon had some hiccups in today's practice.

Recap of Melvin Gordon today:

Another rookie had a pretty good practice today.

Melvin Ingram's offseason program looks good.

Both Inside Linebackers Donald Butler and Denzel Perryman struggled in pass coverage.

Other news and notes:

Patrick Robinson held up nicely in place of Brandon Flowers on both the inside and outside.

Head of the Brad Sorensen fan club.

Best tweet of camp so far is about Johnnie Troutman:
