Training Camp starts down at Chargers Park any minute now, and the San Diego Chargers are excited for the start of football season. However, one thing that has gone somewhat unnoticed is that the deadline for negotiations on a contract extension with their All-Pro Safety has passed.
Eric Weddle, before the start of Training Camp, told the media that he had instructed his agent (hello, David Canter!) to break off any negotiations with the Chargers once Training Camp began. If talks between the two sides start back up again, it will be next offseason when Weddle is a free agent.
That's just one of many seemingly negative storylines that is hanging over the team as they come together to start their team workouts. I talked about them all in the second half of my podcast with Annie Heilbrunn yesterday, and I suggest you give it a listen (unless you're at Chargers Park already, in which case enjoy watching practice!).
