Dear Mr. Ryan Graves,
I am writing this open letter in hopes that it may find you sometime soon. Lately, in regards to the San Diego Chargers Stadium, timelines and deadlines have been as fixed as a sandcastle in the San Diego shoreline. As you have probably noticed being a San Diego native and a pronounced Chargers fan, your hometown is in danger of losing your favorite NFL team.
Ownership says they want to stay in San Diego, yet they seemed more concerned with propping up their Los Angeles prospects while continuing to shoot down any proposals to keep the team in San Diego. After the city just voted ‘yes' to fund an expedited Environmental Impact Report, the Chargers responded by saying that their findings will just be a waste of money.
Imagine what the Chargers would say if they didn't want to stay ...
Seriously, Ryan, you may be the last hope to keep the team here in America's Finest City. All you have to do is buy the team from the Spanos family and get together some of your ‘Big Peeps' that I'm sure you've compiled and have them help you build a new stadium. I wouldn't be surprised to see the local taxpayers give in a little and help with the new stadium just because of the new energy your new ownership would bring.
Ryan, your business savvy and decision making has my support as shown by you leaving an established company in General Electric and trusting your whim with startup Uber, thus making you, at 31 years of age, one of the youngest billionaires in the world. Your fresh outlook and youthful spirit will rejuvenate a fan base that is slowly losing hope.
I believe I mentioned that you were a Chargers fan. Did it ever dawn on you that one day you could own the team? Well, you are pretty close to making it happen if you really wanted to. Give it a thought (well that's what I'm here for), you can OWN THE SAN DIEGO CHARGERS!
Heck, I'm not the richest person in the world, nor am I the poorest person in the world, but the closest I can ever say I owned any part of the Chargers is the season tickets I will buy when you do become owner.
On the other hand, you get to OWN THE CHARGERS Ryan! You get to sign Philip Rivers to an extension for however long you want him as your quarterback. You get to keep Eric Weddle around longer too if you so choose. You already have a budding head coach and a dynamic General Manager.
It's all yours.
Call Dean Spanos and make him a deal he can't refuse.
Remember, it wasn't that long ago that you answered a tweet that would forever change your life. Imagine what would happen if you answered this letter?
Yours Truly,
Ruben J. Gonzalez
