Ummm, wow.
Filed to ESPN: Chargers owner Dean Spanos has relinquished day-to-day control of the team to his sons. Permanent move. Will remain as COB.

Spanos wants to focus on stadium issue. Said sons John & AG have basically been running football and business operations the last few years.

We figured Dean would relinquish day-to-day to sons at some point. Timing is interesting, but per Trotter, Dean wants to focus on stadium.

Considering Alex Spanos held on to team control well into his older years, it was assumed that John Spanos and A.G. Spanos were next in line but wouldn't take control for quite some time. At least, that was my assumption.
Sounds like this won't change much of anything for the San Diego Chargers football operations, but I am very intrigued to see how the stadium issue changes with it getting 100% of Dean's focus and it being what will be his own lasting legacy in San Diego.
Where this is good for the fanbase is that both of Dean's sons have been successful in different ways. John went into college scouting for quite some time and is (sometimes) credited for the team having great success with undrafted free agents. A.G. is well known as a businessman in San Diego.
