There has been a lot of furor among Chargers fans and the media in the last few weeks. It seems the San Diego Chargers are doing everything they can to alienate their fanbase and anger their own players. Naturally, that means when the Chargers General Manager holds a press conference, a significant amount of anticipation exists leading up to the event.
That anticipation was rather unfounded as Telesco stayed true to form and provided little substance in his press conference.
Philip Rivers
Telesco easily spent the first 10-plus minutes of the press conference fielding every possible question about Philip Rivers.
Telesco: "Philip is our quarterback. It’s our plan and intent he is our quarterback well into the future."

Tom Telesco: "I figure at least half of you are here for a Philip Rivers update. ... There really is no update." pic.twitter.com/Y2iPG3uyAQ

Tom Telesco says he'll be as honest as he can today. May not going into great deal. Doesn't want to lie. "I'm Catholic. I tell the truth."

Why did the Chargers go to Eugene to meet with Mariota? "That's just kind of what we do." - Telesco
— Bolts From The Blue (@BFTB_Chargers) April 22, 2015
Telesco shook his head when asked if he's had discussions with Tennessee "I'm going to let that go."
— Marty Caswell (@MartyCaswell) April 22, 2015
Telesco being very clear. "Intent and plan" is to keep Rivers as franchise quarterback. He's leaving himself an out. Plans can change.

Eric Weddle
Tom Telesco on Eric Weddle expressing his frustration over a contract: "They are voluntary workouts."

Tom Telesco on waiting to approach Eric Weddle for extension: "Right now, we're focused on the draft."
— Michael Gehlken (@UTgehlken) April 22, 2015
Tom Telesco on offering Eric Weddle a contract extension: "We'll have discussions at some point. No doubt."
— Michael Gehlken (@UTgehlken) April 22, 2015
Telesco on Weddle: "He’s a major part of our football team…our future would have him involved. We’re a better football team with him"
— San Diego Chargers (@Chargers) April 22, 2015
"We're a better team w/ Eric (Weddle) & I hope he's a Charger for a long time to come. But there's a time & place for these talks." Telesco

Los Angeles, etc.
Telesco on LA "Not naive to the fact that it's out there but luckily it hasn't affected us at all. I haven't had a player ask me about it"
— Marty Caswell (@MartyCaswell) April 22, 2015
Telesco "I like where we are picking at 17."
— Marty Caswell (@MartyCaswell) April 22, 2015
"It's a really good group of guys." "There's an energy in the building." Telesco is just reading from the big book of cliches.
