We are through the first week of the 2015 NFL free agency period and it has been anything but boring. Tom Telesco made some hugely important re-signings, one big signing, and a handful of other value signings. He also still has plenty of room to negotiate the remainder of free agency. It's a good time to be a Chargers fan.
The Chargers have been more active than most fans are giving them credit for and we have all the moves rounded up right here.
Signed by Chargers
Free agents from other teams:
WR Jacoby Jones (2 years, $5.5M)
G Orlando Franklin (5 years, $36.5M)
DB Jimmy Wilson (2 years, $4.85M)
WR Stevie Johnson (3 years, $12M)
Re-signed by Chargers:
LT King Dunlap (4 years, $28M)
CB Brandon Flowers (4 years, $36M)
C Trevor Robinson (2 years, $4.25M)
DE Ricardo Mathews (1 year)
The re-signings of King Dunlap and Brandon Flowers are the two most important moves by far. Telesco couldn't afford to be playing catch-up heading into free agency and he got them back on board quickly. The Orlando Franklin signing will probably have the biggest impact among those brought in from the outside and you'd certainly hope so given the price tag.
Cut by Chargers
LB Reggie Walker
G Chad Rinehart

S Marcus Gilchrist (signed by the New York Jets, 4 years, $22M)
Eddie Royal (signed by the Chicago Bears, 3 years, $15M)

WR Seyi Ajirotutu
RB Ronnie Brown
C Doug Legursky
P Mat McBriar
C Rich Ohrnberger

Nobody irreplaceable has been lost. That's a good sign. A few of those guys were valuable roleplayers though and they will need direct replacements (some of whom are already on board).
