While many rumors circulated this afternoon as to UFA Eddie Royal's future, it appears that he will indeed be leaving to sign with the Chicago Bears.
Just got word that the Eddie Royal signing is official. Terms not yet disclosed. #Bears

Aaron reported earlier that Royal was in fact on his way to Chicago for a visit, in contradiction to an earlier tweet by the UT's Michael Gehlken stating that any news of Royal leaving were just rumors.
Royal's departure leaves a hole to fill in the Chargers offense. His 15 TD's and 109 catches over the last two seasons are not easily replaced. Jacoby Jones, who has only 46 catches and 2 TD's in the same period, is not going to replace Royal, at least by himself.
Royal had his best statistical season with Jay Cutler in Denver. He will help to fill the hole left by Brandon Marshall's departure.
