San Diego Chargers 2015 Team Awards Announced

Who do the players inside the San Diego Chargers locker room think had the best season?

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The San Diego Chargers players voted on awards! It's just for the players in the locker room, so you can hold off on your Cam Newton vs. Tom Brady conversation until later.

Let's get to the list.

Most Valuable Player: Philip Rivers

Well, duh.

Offensive Player of the Year: Keenan Allen

Wait, what? I know the offense really went into the tank without him, but KA13 literally played half of a season. Actually, considered he didn't even play much at all in the eighth game of the season, he played a little less than half of a season. They couldn't have bestowed this honor on one of the few guys that managed to stay healthy?

Defensive Player of the Year: Jason Verrett

Sure. Verrett was fantastic this season and got over his injured reputation with a solid, full season. Maybe the most consistent player on the defense all year long.

Special Teams Player of the Year: Darrell Stuckey

Personally, I think Josh Lambo got robbed of this one, but I get it. Stuckey is always a good option for a Special Teams Award.

Lineman of the Year: Joe Barksdale

Hey, remember when BFTB told the Chargers to sign Joe Barksdale and then they did it? It looks like that worked out pretty well for the team. Too bad Barksdale is likely going to be out of their price range this offseason.

Most Inspirational Player: Malcom Floyd

Malcom Floyd is an animal.

I still don't know how this happened:

Nov 10: Team announced Floyd has a torn labrum and may miss the rest of the season.

Nov 16: San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said the team holds out hope that Floyd can somehow work is way onto the field before the conclusion of this season (in January 2016).

Nov 29: Malcom Floyd returns to play fully in the last 6 games of the season.

Look, I know that NFL doctors are far from infallible, but they're not usually that wrong. Malcom Floyd may actually be an alien.
