An impending free agent, Weddle expressed frustration with the team in preseason after being unable to reach a contract extension. He did not rule out the possibility of returning prior to the fine but said a return to the organization was unlikely.

Eric Weddle (groin), Darrell Stuckey (knee), Ladarius Green (ankle) and Sean Lissemore (shoulder) were all placed on season-ending IR, while the Bolts promoted Sean McGrath and Matt Daniels to the active roster.  The team also re-signed Craig Watts and Michael Huey to the practice squad.

"Yes we did," he said. "We have a policy here, and a situation took place two weeks ago at our stadium. So yes, we did fine him.  It’s an organizational call.  We have a club policy here, and there are certain things we have to do as a football team at halftime to make adjustments, and things like that. That’s why we did that."

If you want the guy who makes plays and makes up for others missing plays and who so often plays when his body is telling him to not play, you take the man who speaks his mind and, in certain instances, you treat him differently.

Team spokesperson Bill Johnston said the Chargers have 17 players on injured reserve, so room for all of them could be an issue. Johnston also said that in the past, players on injured reserve who requested to travel had not been turned down.
