Chargers let one slip, lose to Raiders - Michael Gehlken (UT$)
Inman was on the field for maybe overtime’s most critical play. Wide receiver Seth Roberts bobbled and caught a 33-yard pass, pushing Oakland to the 10-yard line. Not to be overlooked, inside linebacker Denzel Perryman made a hit on a receiver that was ruled unnecessary roughness, bailing out the Raiders on second-and-29.
Bolts spirited but erred too often - Tom Krasovic (UT$)
Philip Rivers was the best performer on either team, but his teammates dropped five passes. Tight end David Johnson caught a pass -- something he's done just twice in two seasons -- but then fumbled, leading to eight points.
Nightmare season for Chargers continues with overtime loss in Black Hole - Eric Williams
"It’s been the story of the year, just losing close games," Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said. "And it doesn’t make it any easier on us to lose another one like that. We’ve got one more before we reload."
City stadium consultant costs mount - Jeff McDonald (UT$)
"Regardless of what ultimately happens with the NFL, this environmental impact report is valuable to taxpayers," he said. "The environmental studies and analysis in the report can be used for a new NFL stadium, demolishing the current stadium or other future projects on the site."
Sell Melvin Gordon in Dynasty - Michael Moore (PFF Fantasy Gold)
To say Gordon’s season was a disappointment would be an understatement. After being drafted 15th overall, Gordon was expected to be a popular pick in all formats. With the Chargers so invested, and seemingly very few other options in the San Diego backfield, Gordon had a golden opportunity. Unfortunately, it appears it’s gone to waste.
