FINAL SCORE: San Diego Chargers win 30-14 over the Miami Dolphins

An emotional game in San Diego on multiple fronts resulted in (last?) Chargers home win.

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

If this was indeed the final game in San Diego, the Chargers put on a show and sent the Chargers faithful home happy in regards to the football side of things but the business side; that remains to be seen. The Chargers dominated on both sides of the ball and at one point in the first half the Chargers defense forced 5 straight punts and gave up 0 points going into halftime.

Jason Verrett, Denzel Perryman and Jeremiah Attaochu all made an impact on this game on defense but none more than OLB Melvin Ingram who had multiple QB hits, 2 sacks and a strip that was ultimately recovered by the Dolphins. Ingram had himself a day against converted Guard to Tackle Dallas Thomas.

Craig Mager had his eyes in the backfield and got beat over the top for a big gain and Miami topped off that drive with a touchdown run by Jay Ajayi aided by multiple Chargers missed tackles. Dolphins added another touchdown in garbage time.

Danny Woodhead got the hat trick in the first half and added another touchdown, four total on the day, in the fourth quarter. This stat also happened today:

Melvin Gordon: 217 total touches in 2015 and scored 0 TDs.

Danny Woodhead: 8 touches in the first half against the Dolphins and scored 3 TDs.

Antonio Gates led the team in yards with 88 on the day and Malcom Floyd had another contested circus catch that seemed like a fitting way to go out at his last home game on his retirement tour.  Javontee Herndon showed some more promise as a Wide Receiver and had a nice return in the first half. Right Guard DJ Fluker locked up Ndamukong Suh for most of the game and got this beauty.

Tank be damned, it felt good to see a winning effort at Qualcomm Stadium for what could have been the last time. Eric Weddle, Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd all got standing ovations today as they deserve but so do Chargers fans. Enjoy it!
