The San Diego Chargers are not a very good, or healthy, team. Tonight, they are playing poorly and acquiring more injuries.
Malcom Floyd has left the game with a shoulder injury, Jason Verrett has left the game with a groin injury after intercepting a pass and running it back for a touchdown, and Patrick Robinson has left the game after filling in for Jason Verrett.
The good news is that Philip Rivers is playing great, of course, and that the Chicago Bears are a terrible football team that makes a lot of foolish mistakes. They have also done a terrible job of closing out drives.
So, even though the Chargers defense can't really stop the Bears, and even though Mike Scifres looks like something is very wrong with him, the Chargers have a 9 point lead and get the ball to start the second half. If they can drive down for a TD, going up 16, it will be tough for them to give this one away to the Bears.
