The Chargers continue making moves after a busy day yesterday. DT Damion Square has been promoted to the active roster from the practice squad. The defensive line was down to only 4 healthy bodies with Corey Liuget suffering an injury against the Ravens this week.
The Chargers also needed to re-fill their practice squad after promoting 4 players over the last 24 hours. The 4 players that the team picked up are:
RB Dreamius Smith - Smith is the lone familiar face here, after having spent the preseason with the Chargers. With Branden Oliver going on the IR, the team is down to 3 running backs on the active roster.
WR/KR Isaiah Burse - Burse is a primarily a return man. He spent 12 games with the Denver Broncos last season and had 29 punt returns averaging 7.3 yards per return, which is 7.4 yards per return better than the Chargers are averaging now.
DE Ben Gardner - Was a 7th round draft pick by the Cowboys and missed the 2014 season with an injury. There was a lot of love for him in the preseason but the Cowboys dropped him in the final round of cuts.
S Matt Daniels - Daniels was an UDFA in 2012 and has played in 6 games over 2 seasons. When he left Duke to enter the NFL he was Duke's all time leader in tackles, pass break ups, and forced fumbles.
