It's official: Chargers WR Keenan Allen out for year, source says. Lacerated kidney. Headed to IR. But expected to make a full recovery.

Welp, that was quick.
Keenan Allen was the only player on the San Diego Chargers outside of Philip Rivers who was having a "good" year offensively, so now the 2-6 Bolts are significantly worse than what their record says they are. That's less than fun.
Perhaps Tom Telesco will use the remaining hours before the NFL Trade Deadline to trade away any and all players that won't be back next season (Eric Weddle, Antonio Gates, Malcom Floyd)? It's only sad until you realize they'd probably be going to good teams and having more fun.
With Allen out, Stevie Johnson will likely take his spot on the outside and Dontrelle Inman will likely become the slot receiver (or split time with Ladarius Green there). Either way, Philip Rivers will have a difficult time putting up the same great stats he's been putting up.
