Open Thread: San Diego Chargers lead Jacksonville Jaguars 21-9 at halftime

Just when the San Diego Chargers couldn't possibly get any worse, they found a way to continue to hurt the organization.

Jim Steve-USA TODAY Sports

I don't want to get too obnoxious with this, but the San Diego Chargers are out of it. They're not going to go 8-8 or even sniff the NFL Playoffs. The best thing for them to do would be for them to continue losing and get the best draft pick possible.

So, of course, now they've decided to start doing all the things that they haven't done all year long. They're scoring oodles of points (on pace for 42 points!), moving the ball easily (even Melvin Gordon has an 11 yard run!), and playing defense (Manti Te'o had an interception!). They haven't even had a ludicrous number of injuries, just the regular amount!

I fully expect the Chargers to win this game by a hundred points, and then Mike McCoy and Philip Rivers to come out and say that this team is still going to try and win every game from here on out because...well, that's just their programming.

Can they manage to screw this one up? With a 12 point lead, and receiving the ball to start the 2nd half? Probably, but it's not very likely.
