Keenan Allen has a kidney injury, said Mike McCoy. Will miss some time.

Considering Mike McCoy never talks injuries, surprising (& worrisome) that he volunteers Keenan's injury. No elaboration on rest of team

That is worrisome.
I'm no doctor but a "kidney injury" sounds pretty freaking serious. My guess is that he'll be out against the Chicago Bears a week from today, with the bye week to rest, and possibly for the rest of the season if the team's playoff chances become hopeless. No need to risk serious injury to an organ other than the brain just for the sake of trying to win football games when winning football games does nothing but hurt your draft position.
Allen has been the San Diego Chargers' best WR this year, and will be counted on to have an even bigger role with Malcom Floyd's retirement and Antonio Gates' possible retirement in the upcoming offseason. They need him healthy for the long term.
HOSPITAL UPDATE:
Chargers wide receivers a tight-knit group. Plan to visit Keenan Allen in hospital either today or tomorrow. Allen (kidney) out indefinitely
