Darius Philon Placed on Injured Reserve/Designated to Return

The Chargers make a move to add another offensive lineman to the active roster.

Darius Philon has been placed on Injured Reserve/Designated to Return for the San Diego Chargers. The rookie defensive end has seen game action four times this year as a part of the rotation used on the defensive line. He was the Chargers' sixth round pick in this years NFL draft. With the "designated to return" distinction, Philon can return to practice after six weeks and can return to game action after 8 weeks. His earliest possible return will be against the Kansas City Chiefs on December 13th.

Offensive Lineman Michael Ola was signed from the practice squad in the corresponding roster move. He saw game action once this year, subbing in for an injury in the week four game against the Cleveland Browns. With LT King Dunlap and C Chris Watt already ruled out, as well as OT Chris Hairston and OG's Orlando Franklin and D.J. Fluker's status being questionable heading in to the game against Green Bay, Ola will provide necessary depth along the offensive line.
