The hits just keep on coming. After worrying that the San Diego Chargers would exit their game against the Seattle Seahawks beaten and bruised, it was their win over the Buffalo Bills that has left the team most wounded.
After the team placed Danny Woodhead on season-ending IR earlier today, Michael Gehlken of the UT-San Diego that second-year starting LB Manti Te'o will miss significant time with a foot fracture. He is not expected to be placed on IR.
This is Te'os third foot injury in a little over a year, perhaps pointing to a much more serious issue than the broken foot.
Much the same way Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead will be replaced on the field with players that were not with the team last season, Te'o will be replaced by free agent signee LB Kavell Conner. During the preseason, Conner filled in when Te'o had a foot injury and played very well.
