Every time the cart comes out to drive a player off the field, the chances of them being done for the season is about 50/50. In this case, it's the bad 50.
The San Diego Chargers have placed RB Danny Woodhead on season-ending IR with a broken fibula, giving them two open spots on the roster (they have yet to sign someone after putting OLB Melvin Ingram on IR) that they'll want to fill before Sunday's home game against the Jacksonville Jagaurs.
Woodhead suffered the injury in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.
This one is a killer for the Chargers. Woodhead was arguably one of the five most valuable offensive players last season, and even Philip Rivers said that having him in there as a reliable check-down receiver helped him get back to his Pro Bowl form.
For a team that is not very deep at WR, two major injuries to the top two RBs on the roster is going to hurt for a long time.
