Well well well, it looks like the San Diego Chargers from last year have returned.
In a game that nobody expected them to be in, the Chargers are up 20-14 and it isn't even that close. Outside of a horrible last-minute prevent defense, John Pagano's men have been stellar. Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, and the Chargers offense have been even better.
There is a real rhythm to the offense, and a balance, and it has lead to a couple of long drives in the sweltering heat. It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks find a way to slow down Keenan Allen, Danny Woodhead, and Ryan Mathews in the second half.
The key to the defense has mostly been in the pass rush, which has been consistently terrifying on the backs of starting OLBs Dwight Freeney and Melvin Ingram. Can they keep it up and lead the team to victory?
The second half should be a lot of sacks for the defense and Ryan Mathews for the offense, if things go correctly, and San Diego needs to avoid turning the ball over if they want to win.
