I almost like these games most of all. The games where the San Diego Chargers have, on paper, little to no chance of winning. They have almost nothing to lose and everything to gain. If the team wins, all of us statheads get to laugh at how unpredictable football really is, or at least can be.
I like the games where I am hoping for the unexpected instead of waiting on what it expected. It's more fun. It feels like us against the world, and it probably feels that way to the coaches and players too. Maybe that will be enough.
I'll be back with your update and new Open Thread at halftime, and then I'll have your game recap after the game is over. Strap in, because I feel like this is going to be a fun one.
You play to win the game!
