Chargers rookie Verrett shows quickness - Tom Krasovic (paywall)
With Jahleel Addae not practicing, Brandon Taylor was busy. I’m not sure the third-year safety is explosive like he was last August, in an impressive showing at Arizona. Taylor blew out an ACL in December 2012, suffered a setback in practice going into the '13 season and had arthroscopic “clean-up” surgery in January.
Ryan Mathews adds muscle - KFFL
Ryan Mathews showed quick cuts and bursts while running at minicamp Tuesday, June 17. He also appears to have added muscle in the offseason, and he's weighing 222 pounds, which is up seven pounds from last August.
Gates an excused absence; Hardwick injured - Eric Williams
According to Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press, Gates is believed to be dealing with an illness in his family.
Mike McCoy Rewards Team for Strong Offseason - Ricky Henne
“We finished OTAs today,” McCoy said. “We are not going to have a practice tomorrow, so this was our last OTA practice. I think the players have done an outstanding job this offseason and worked extremely hard. They’ve done a great job and have done everything we’ve asked of them. So this was a little bit of appreciation for what they did. I think we’re at a good point right now. We’ve got a long ways to go, but this is the best thing for the football team moving forward.”
