No Compensatory Draft Picks for The Chargers

Compensatory Draft picks have been announced and the San Diego Chargers didn't get one.

Despite the loss of Free Agents like Louis Vasquez, Shaun Phillips and Quentin Jammer, before last season, the Chargers have not been awarded any picks. Their loss was equalized by their signings, including Dwight Freeney, King Dunlap, Danny Woodhead and Derek Cox.

While the formula for gaining Compensatory Picks is not completely known, it has been gleaned from past data that it is affected by the salary, playing time and post-season awards gained by the player. As mentioned in the second CBA 101 article, the Chargers both gained more players than they lost and paid them more money. This makes the lack of a pick no surprise.
