As the San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs get set for their second meeting of the season today, the Chargers will need a win to clinch a playoff spot for a second-straight year. They will have to do it without two of their offensive weapons, as both Keenan Allen and Ryan Mathews have been declared inactive.
Rookie offensive guard Chris Watt will also be out for the Chargers today, along with Mike Scifres once again, which rounds out the big names on the inactive list for the Bolts.
The Chiefs also have a chance to make the playoffs with a win, however, will need some help from the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars for that to happen, as the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans could advance ahead of them, even if Kansas City wins.
News broke earlier this week that Alex Smith will be missing today's game with a ruptured spleen, and joining him on the inactive list for the Chiefs is Marcus Cooper and Donnie Avery.
It looks as though Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe will active today after both had been questionable to play, along with Tamba Hali and Joe Mays available for the Chiefs defense.
