Weddle is clearly deserving of the honor, as according to the coaches stats, he leads the defense with 105 total tackles and 84 solo stops.  He’s also tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and ranks third with eight passes defensed.  While the safety has only one interception this season, it sealed the Bolts’ victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.  His game changing ability was on full display Saturday night when his forced fumble in overtime allowed the Chargers to pull off their greatest comeback in franchise history.

Rivers also said with new players such as receiver Dontrelle Inman, center Trevor Robinson and guard Jeremiah Sirles taking on a larger role in the offense, the practice reps are important. Rivers said with the practice schedule switched around -- the players will take Thursday off for Christmas -- he should be a full participant in practice all week.
