Audibles at the Line: Week 15 - Andrew Potter
I don't think Manning struggled today. One of the highest YPA averages of his career (233 yards on 20 attempts). Some of the deep balls looked very good, sick or not. Denver just continued to go run-heavy, maybe to help him out with the illness in particular today.
Miscues and Mistakes Doom Chargers - Hayley Elwood
A portion of the penalties that happened on defense occurred on third down. These turned out to be game-changers for the Chargers causing the Broncos to extend their drives and eventually score points.
Hot Teams and Baby Animals - Mike Tanier (b/r)
The Broncos have now won two straight games in which Manning was only marginally effective and Anderson did not race to his rescue with a mammoth game (though he did have three rushing scores last week). That said, any calendar that features Osweiler in December would probably be obsolete by February, so it was great to see Manning back.
Offensive Output Not Good Enough - Ricky Henne
Already without Ryan Mathews and Ladarius Green, the Bolts were dealt another blow offensively when Keenan Allen left the game with an ankle injury. That fact wasn’t lost on Antonio Gates. "Obviously we have guys banged up and I think the health of our ball club is more important than anything right now," he said. "We have to try to find a way to get everyone back healthy, because down the stretch we are going to need every single person."
Chargers lose, and now need some help - Michael Gehlken (UT$)
They lost control. "We had it in our hands, and we fumbled it," tackle King Dunlap said. Two games remain in the regular season. Winning both won't be enough.
