One again, former 1st round draft pick OLB Melvin Ingram had returned quickly from a serious injury and is set to make a major difference for the San Diego Chargers when the take on the Oakland Raiders tomorrow. He was activated from IR today and placed on the active roster. OLB Cordarro Law was waived to create space.
The team's 2014 1st round draft pick, CB Jason Verrett, has possibly made more of an impact than any other player on the defense when healthy. However, he started the season injured and hasn't had a lot of success getting healthy since.
Jason Verrett to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. Left labrum torn in three places. Full recovery expected for rookie CB.

So, why didn't the team simply use the roster spot for Ingram instead of cutting Law to create room? Simple. Jahleel Addae, who went back on the field and played through a concussion on October 23rd, is still not right.
Chargers also waived OLB Cordarro Law, signed safety Adrian Phillips. A sign Jahleel Addae may miss Sunday.

So much for the team's health turning around after the bye week.
If you're looking for a silver lining, Shareece Wright has been solid as the starting CB this season and will not get more time to earn himself a bigger contract this offseason when he becomes a free agent.
