The following substantially important players comprise the San Diego Chargers inactive list for today's game against the New York Jets:
WR Dontrelle Inman
RB Ryan Mathews
CB Shareece Wright
LB Manti Te'o
LB Reggie Walker
OC Rich Ohrnberger
LB Jerry Attaochu
Jason Verrett, who missed last week, will start in place of the injured Wright. Verrett is arguably an improvement over Wright, but the reduced depth at corner is troubling.
Doug Legursky will make is second consecutive start in relief of Ohrnberger. Legursky was a disaster last week, but he was also signed off the street. He's a veteran player and you have to expect he'll be better this week.
Donald Brown will continue to shoulder the load at running back with Ryan Mathews on the shelf. I'm not confident anyone could run behind this line right now, but you'd have to feel a little more comfortable with Mathews after watching Brown the last few weeks.
Finally, Kavell Conner will take Manti Te'o's snaps which should be a drop in quality against the pass, but a slight improvement against the run. Facing the Jets, that's maybe a tradeoff you'd want to make.
