It really happened, guys. Even with Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett injured, the San Diego Chargers have released Richard Marshall. This is not a drill. Pro Football Talk reported via Twitter:
Chargers release CB Richard Marshall, per league source.

Go ahead and pinch yourself because you're not dreaming. The Chargers are relatively deep at corner compared to past years with Flowers, Verrett and Shareece Wright, but with the injury situation, this move is surprising. When a team is missing its top two corners, you have to be playing pretty amazingly bad to get cut as the 4th corner.
It will be interesting to see who takes his snaps. Chris Davis and Steve Williams aren't the most exciting prospects in the world, but odds are that either could replace what "value" Marshall brought to the defense. There will likely be a corresponding add in the near future, but it's impossible to say who will be joining the team.
Don't worry about that right now, though. Now is a time to celebrate that you'll never have to watch Marshall blow another coverage for the San Diego Chargers.
Also, yes, I know it's in poor taste to celebrate anyone losing their job, but I suspect Marshall will be just fine.
