After the votes were counted, The San Diego Chargers' Philip Rivers was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week again. This time, he beat out the Indianapolis Colts' Andrew Luck and Baltimore Ravens' Joe Flacco. Rivers completed 29 of 39 passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns as the Chargers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 33-14.
This incredible performance came despite a crumbling interior line that featured a third string center, rotating right guards, and a left guard having one of the worst games of his career. The competition wasn't as impressive as it was in Week 2, but you can only play the teams on your schedule (as they say) and Rivers played lights out against a motivated if not terribly talented football team.
Earning this weekly honor will also result in a $2,000 donation being made in Rivers' name to the San Diego chapter of the American Red Cross.
