Can you describe the San Diego Chargers in one word?

New, comments

Attempting to describe the 2014 San Diego Chargers, through five weeks of the season, in a single word is harder than you might think.

SDSU great and NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk wants to know what one word best describes the San Diego Chargers, and how long will it last as the best descriptor for the team?

As a man of words, I consider this to be a great challenge. Also, there's a lot of different avenues I could go with this.

"Injured" might be the best word to describe the Chargers, but it would give you no idea of their 4-1 record.

"Talented" doesn't really capture it either, because the team does more with the roster they have than other more-talented teams.

"Versatile"? I mean, they are, with the coaches and players doing different things each week to be take advantage of the weaknesses of their opponents.

I'm going to go with tenacious, because it's the first thing that came to mind. No matter how many things go wrong, the Chargers do not stop fighting at 100% and never stop believing that they can win the game/season. I think that's a byproduct of the coaches and also a winning streak, so I think it will last until/if the team loses 2-3 games in a row.
